An easy challenge to start off with:
- What creatures can you find in your garden ?
Lets see if we can find some interesting wildlife in our gardens this week. Use the comments to add your finds to this post.
Good luck from Isaac
Note: This is an “open challenge” there is no time limit. You can add anything you spot in your garden to this post whenever you like !
*Update*
Here are some of the things spotters club members have found so far:
Jacob went out bug hunting in the garden this morning and found lots of trolly buses [woodlouse] under pots and stones. He also found a spider, a two spot ladybird and some un-identified eggs
Hi Isaac
I LOVE your new website! I can’t wait until Enzo gets home so I can show him your pictures and start some bug hunting of our own… We’ll let you know how we get on.
Lots of love
Auntie Em
What neat eggs! We have been bug-hunting while we were gardening today and found a big hairy catterpillar!
I want to join your site and post pictures for you to see. So does Grandma.
Isaac,
We will be sure to join up and add some pictures of the birds and bugs we see in our backyard. Probably not spiders though, I’m a bit frightened of them and that one in your yard is definitely scary looking! Saoirse and Sophie will have lots of fun looking.
Emma
Isaac,
When mowing the lawn today i found some big orange slugs, some tiny frogs and a newt hiding under some logs.
Hi Isaac, will have to look to see what I can find in my garden. Lots of butterflies at the moment.
Hey Barb – any bears on Grouse Mt? Mini Beast or Maxi Beast?
Hi Isaac, we have posted a few photographs, into our album, including the ones capturing the swarm of bees in the playing field and of bugs, slugs and slow worms who share our garden here in Locking.
Isaac – Grandpa says that tonight, he will try to photograph the toad living in the wood pile near our kitchen door. This will be the third night that he has attempted to capture the elusive toad! Perhaps he should camp out all night!
Hi Isaac
We went walking in the woods yesterday and we found a fat worm
and a big black beetle that Enzo ran away from!
Love from Auntie Em

Nanny found three crickets sitting on her begonias! this is one of them:
I’m clearly not doing it right!
Put the images in for you !
With the picasa web page open if you right click on the image and selected ‘copy image location’ then in the comment use the ‘you can add images to your comment by clicking here’ link; it should work !
For some reason WordPress strips out img tags, so I don’t think you can use the ‘share’ options on web galleries
Yeah, solved the issue !
Everyone should be able to post images without too much trouble now.
Very pink flower in our back garden!
That is really pink.
Isaac, i found another moth at work today so i too a picture of it for you. Its called a poplar hawk Moth. I hope you like it.
Found a caterpillar making it’s cocoon in our garden." alt="a>" />
What a brilliant photo.
Thank you for showing me the cocoon in your garden!
Grandpa has posted photographs of the bathroom spider, a caterpillar and at long last – the garden toad! All in the photo gallery. It looks as though we are all having lots of fun finding bugs and creatures!
Grandpa found grass snake eggs in the compost this morning! He had to return them to their warm nest quickly so we did not have an opportunity to take a photograph. The eggs were grape like and white.
