We have installled a photo gallery. If you want to add some photos of your finds, and you don’t already have a place to put your photos on-line, you can upload photos to our gallery. *Read this first*. We’ll need to set you up an account, then you can log-in, create a new album for yourself, and upload your photos.
If you can re-size your photos before uploadingĀ [800px wide will be good] then we shouldn’t have any problems with filling up our server space!
email marcus@spottersclub.co.uk to request an account for the gallery, or if you need any help with posting pics from your own sources.
Then you can post your photos into the site like this:
This is a butterfly we released into our garden after watching him grow from an egg.
Love the butterfly photo, was it one of the ones you hatched?
Yes it was one of the eggs that we watched turn from caterpillars into crysalis and then a butterfly. We got an ‘insect lore’ kit like this one from from Amazon.
Thank you for letting me go on your web site. We have lots of butterflies in our garden too. They are laying yellow eggs, white eggs and grey eggs on mummys brussel sprout plants, but they can’t get onto our cabbages because we have put a net frame over them. Have a fabulous summer holiday. Love from Jessica.
Ben tried to catch some butterflies today with his fishing net!
Hello Jessica, glad you liked visiting my site. I hope you have a good holiday too. I typed this myself !
You know Ben tried to catch some butterflies with his net ? I will try and do that too !
Isaac, i took this picture at work.

It is a Privet Hawk Moth and it was huge. You can see by the bricks in the background how big it was. Whata cool website!
Phil identified the moth on this page of the UKMoths site, we’ll be adding that to the useful sites list.
Thanks for the photo. It is huge! Isaac.
Hello Isaac
Thank you for letting us join your club!
We’ve been in the garden today and saw a lovely Dragonfly. It was really quick at moving, but we managed to get a photo…
We also saw many different types of butterflies and a huge red ants nest next to our tent! Every day we also see the Deer in the field at the back of our garden.
Hope you are having fun too “Bug Spotting”.
From Ollie & Dan.
Cool, well done to catch a photo of a dragonfly, glad you can add pictures ok now.
Hi Isaac,

Here is a picture of a butterfly we found in our garden.
We went to Dunster Castle at the weekend and saw lots of Dragonflies and butterflies by the river.
We hope you are having a fun holiday too!
From Ollie and Dan
Hello Isaac, we have discovered grass snake eggs in the compost heap. The eggs are white and soft. Grandpa has replaced them in the compost so that they kept warm, so no photograph. However, there is a web site that demonstrates the eggs being laid. http://www.arkive.org/grass-snake/natrix-natrix.info
Butterfly found on walk at Crook Peak
There were lots of these Funnel Webs in the gorse.

Another butterfly next to the path.

Looks like this one is a ‘Gatekeeper’ according to our RSPB wildlife of Britain
This peacock butterfly was not bothered by us walking past on the path!

Can you spot it? Everytime Xavier sees one of these he explains at great length how it is not a spider.
" alt="a>" />
It’s got eight legs, so could Xavier explain to us why it isn’t a spider ?
We think this is a privet hedge hawk moth caterpillar. Whatever it was, it was massive!!!!!
" alt="a>" />
Looks like a really wierd big fat thing! there’s a pic of a privet hawk moth earlier in this post.
Spotted this outside Puxton Park.
